Here's a collection of some of my favourite poster designs that I have designed recently.
The brief for this artwork was to design a poster to encourage drivers to stay alert on the road. According to Forbes, about 13% of distracted driving accidents result in fatalities. With the rise in popularity of social media platforms and the increase in accessibility of smartphones in Zimbabwe, this figure will likely increase. Therefore, it was important to show in this design how as with many distractions, texting while driving impedes one's ability to stay alert and to see where they are going.
This poster design was part of a larger advertising campaign by First Capital Bank, a local bank with regional branches across the Southern African region. The client had just redesigned their online banking platform, and they wanted a series of simple adverts, that would tell their customers about the new features that had been added to the site. To drive home the message of convenience, I wanted to show the how the online banking platform brought banking wherever the customer was, including one's living room. From their sofa, the customer can view their debit card limit, block a lost card and even open a bank account.
I have been consulting for the Zimbabwe Agricultural Society since 2017, providing graphic design services for their various events and programmes. Their biggest and perhaps the biggest trade and agricultural show in Zimbabwe is the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show (a.k.a The Show). This is one of the poster design options that I created for them, which was targeted at the attendees of The Show. Since "The Show" has been running for over 100 years, I design a rustic visual theme for the advertising collateral, with the main element being weathered 3D text, on old wood planks. I compiled the highlight of the previous editions of "The Show" into a collage, that I placed as the background of the artwork, with a weathered and wrinkled paper texture, as a subtle nod to the event's heritage.
